ONE HULL Structure and Membership

The ONE HULL Partnership structure reflects the “challenging” goals set out in the Community Strategy and a drive to focus delivery on key priorities following a comprehensive consultation process.

As a City, we can only reduce poverty if local people realise the real benefits of working in partnership. By bringing together important partners to focus on providing job opportunities and skills, improving education, and dealing with anti-social behaviour and poor health, local people can help improve the quality of life for everyone. It also ensures the partnership is ready to deliver the Local Area Agreement 2 (LAA2)

By working together in partnership, everyone - from individuals and community groups to businesses and large organisations - can play a part in transforming Hull into a vibrant, sustainable, 21st century city. A City that offers a good quality of life to all those who live in, work in, or visit Hull.

ONE HULL Structure

Executive Group of ONE HULL

The Executive Group drives Partnership delivery and is accountable for the Local Strategic Partnership (ONE HULL) performance to Government.

Responsible for commissioning activities - through the four Strategic Delivery Partnerships of ONE HULL – members also oversee the effectiveness of subsequent delivery and evaluates progress against key milestones set out in the City’s Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement 2 targets.

Working at a strategic executive level, members ensure consistency between partnership strategies and delivery plans and that identified issues are acted upon.

All members act as advocates for local people and businesses – and strive to make the City a thriving regional centre. Membership, which is reviewed annually, reflects the characteristics and aspirations of the City and the opportunities for development identified in the Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement.

Therefore, Executive Group membership and selection is based on and individuals’ ability to influence within their organisations and demonstrate a commitment to contribute resources and in tackling shared aims.

A regional recruitment campaign ensured members were also representative of community life - and everyone was given an opportunity to have a stake in Hull’s future. Open recruitment selected two new members form the private sector and two new members form the voluntary and community sector. The ambassadors for Hull now work with key leaders from the City’s public sector organisations, including the Hull Teaching Primary Care Trust, Humberside Police and Hull City Council.

The Executive Group will also draw on the expertise of advisers when required, such as the Learning and Skills Council, the Regional Development Agency, Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber and the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder.

Hull Partnership of ONE HULLReturn to Stucture Diagram ^

The Hull Partnership, as far as is practicable, comprises of an equal number of representatives from organisations and agencies in the public, private, voluntary and community sectors, which are actively involved in the City.

Members are expected to represent the breadth of opinion within their identified organisation, sector, community, constituency or partnership. Therefore, the Hull Partnership can also act as a broad reference group for consultation on identified issues. Representation will also be given from the Strategic Delivery Partnerships of ONE HULL and Standing Advisory Groups to ensure cross-cutting issues can be discussed.

Membership from the community and voluntary sector has been achieved using the Electoral Reform Society to ensure atransparent and fair process and to provide a direct link to the Areas, while the business sector held an election process through the respected ONE HULL Business Forum

The ONE HULL Business Forum and ONE HULL VCS Forum will assist in supporting representatives.

Strategic Delivery Partnerships of ONE HULLReturn to Stucture Diagram ^

The Strategic Delivery Partnerships (SDPs) of ONE HULL reflect the key aims of the Sustainable Community Strategy and are tasked with its co-ordination and delivery of specific key goals, as well as the Local Area Agreement 2.

The four SDPs of ONE HULL are:

Each key theme will take responsibility for and advising the Executive Group on meeting agreed outcomes, priorities and improvement targets.

They will be accountable, and report regularly to the Executive Group, on performance – addressing under-performance through effective interventions. Members will also be responsible for co-ordinating delivery and reviewing progress in the delivery of targets.

In addition to the four themed Strategic Delivery Partnerships of ONE HULL, the Partnership recognises that there are many other issues which cut across the work of all our partners.

In order to ensure that these key cross-cutting themes are embedded in, and addressed by, the work of the whole Partnership, ONE HULL has set up Standing Advisory Groups.
